Short holograph letter signed, dated from Boston, 15 Nov., 1858. The note, to William Hunter, reads: "Dear Sir/ You would much oblige me by handing the enclosed to Mr. Eames when he comes to the Department on his return from Venezuela." and is signed in full by Everett. Edward Everett (1794-1865) was a Massachusetts Congressman from 1825-1835, Governor of Massachusetts 1836-1839, Minister to Great Britain 1841-1845, Secretary of State under President Millard Fillmore 1852-1853 and Massachusetts Senator 1853-1854. The note is written on one (5x7")side of a folded sheet of note paper and is in excellent condition with a very short closed tear to the outer edge and the usual mailing folds. (Item ID: X108)
