New York: Robert M. De Witt, 1865. First edition First ediitoon. Slim 8vo in dark brown cloth letetred and with samll decoration and facsimile signature in gilt. All edge gilt. 36 pp. Presentation copy inscribed and dated at New York in April, 1871 (possibly in another hand and certainly in a different color ink) and signed A.J.H. Duganne in his hand. A collection of poetry. In fair condition only, front board loosened but still attached, inscription page partially detached and title, dedication and contents pages complete detached and laid in. A.J. H. Duganne (1823-1884) was an American poet, playwright, novelist and Civil War diarist. He was instrumental in the founding of the "Know Nothing Party" , was a colonel in the 17th New York Vols in the Civil War during which time he was captures and spend time an a Confederate prison camp.
