The introductory section includes a history of the monument and a transcription of the dedication addresses by Gen. Daniel Sickels, Gen. James Rogers and New York Governor Odell. Includes a biographical sketch of Slocum and a history "Slocum and His Men" recounting the actions of the 12th New York at Antietam and Gettysburg.
