Autobiography of movie and television star Buddy Ebsen (1908-2003). Originally a dancer, Ebsen began his career in 1936 in "Broadway Melody of 1936" and also appeared with Shirley Temple in "Captain January" the same year. Ebsen was chosen by Walt Disney to dance in front of a grid to helped create Mickey Mouse's dancing in the Silly Symphonies cartoons between 1928 and 1939. He was cast in his most famous movie role in 1939 when he was chosen to play The Scarecrow in "The Wizard of Oz" (interestingly, he was originally chosen to play the Tin Man and ray Bolger cast as The Scarecrow but the two agreed to exchange roles. In 1962, he was chosen to play Jed Clampett in the CBS sitcom "The Beverly Hillbillies", a hit that ran for 10 seasons. As New / as new. Item #E23816
