Hardcover in cream colored cloth lettered in black. 254 pp. A tight, generally fine copy, mere touch of wear to the spine extremities and the single word "excellent" inked on the upper corner of the front pastedown. In the even scarcer original dust jacket good, with a chip to the upper outer front panel corner, the foot of the spine and head of the spine; shallow chips to the edges and soiling to the white rear panel. published tow years after his Paris ex-pat classic memoir "This Must Be The Place", a novel of young American artist and writer who meets Anne "..young, beautiful, fascinating to men--and an emotional sadist"...) in a dive bar in Spain. They are togehther for a year, first on the Spanish coast, then in Monteparnasse, and finally in New York in the dying days of prohibition. Through his unwilling but fascinated eyes we watch the revelation of a character incredible for her greed for evil, beneath a surface charm that makes all men accept her at face value.
