Illustrated with scenes from the Mayflower Photoplay Corporation silent film starring Lon Chaney, Thomas Meighan and Betty Compson. 300 pp. plus one page adverts. About very good, some spotting to the outer edge of the front cover and the spine edge as well as the rear cover. Ownership signature front free endpaper. The novel was the basis for the 1914 George M. Cohan Broadway play which in turn was the basis for the silent film. Released by Paramount, the movie was a huge hit and launched its three major actors into stardom---most notably, it was Lon Chaney's breakthrough role, leading eventually his "The Hunchback Of Notre Dame" and "The Phanton of The Opera" Very Good.
