Heavy, royal octavo volumes in deep green-blue cloth lettered in gilt and with gilt design stamped on front boards (The "Fram" on Vol. 1 and "Northward through the Drift-Snow" on Vol. II). The set contains about 120 full page and numerous text illustrations including 16 colored plates in facsimile form Nansen's own sketches Vol. I is xiii+ 510 pp. two folding maps at rear, frontis sepia engraved portrait of Nansen. Volume II is xiii+ 670 pp. with two folding maps at rear. Very good, some modest self wear at the bottom edges of the boards and some rubbing along the gutters and spine ends; occasional light scattered foxing particularly to the first and last few leaves. Maps are fully intact. Previous owner's stamp both front free endpapers.
