Bound volume of The Gliding and Soaring Bulletin 1935-1936 and associated publications

Pensacola, FL: 1935. Quarto bound for the owner in navy blue cloth hardcovers. Mimeo printed. The volumes begins with a 16-page manual by Lt. Cmdr. Ralph S. Barnaby (USN) for use at the Naval Air Station, Pensacola, Florida to train new students and here reprinted with the permission of the Chief of the Bureau of Aeronautics by the Soaring Society of America. The bulk of the volume contains issues of The Gliding And Soaring Bulletin beginning with the issue of June 1, 1935 and running through December, 1936. Some of the issues re illustrated with fairly primitive drawings and diagrams; the Jan. 1936 issue contains a professionally prepared diagram plate for a glider launching winch. After the Dec. 1936 issue, there is bound in a 10 page Bulletin0N.A.A. Committee On Gliding in Washington; finally, bound in at rear is a March, 1936 issue of "Zeitschrift Des Vereines Deutcher Ingenieure", sequentially paginated 377-404, illustrated with photographs, and with a 5-page section including a three section fold out , schematic of an airship. Binding is fine and tight and the interior is undamaged except for some shallow chipping at the outer edge of the winch diagram. Near Fine Hardcover (Item ID: E20983)
