First published in the Black Mask magazine in 1927 under the title "The Big Knockover". Hardcover in red paper covered boards. Near fine, bit of wear at the spine extremities as well as an ownership signature on the front free endpaper and the notation"Purchased to aid disabled soldiers in hospitals. 3/30/44". Beimng a wartime publication, there is the usual embrowning to the pages. In the original dust jacket, very good, fade to the spine strip. From the noir master and author of "The Maltese Falcon" and "The Thin Man", a suspense novel of the looting of several million dollars from a San Francisco bank.
