A tight example, deaccessioned from the Library Company of Philadelphia with their 19th century bookplate front pastedown amd small numbered paper sticker head of spine.Internally bright and clean, spine somewhat darkened and with minor edge wear. Includes cahpters on the hisotory of photography and some of its pioneers, the daguerreotype process, other processes (calotype, collodion, dry-plate collodion, collodion emulsion, silver and bromide gelatine), history of photo printing processes, roller-slides and negative making on paper, history of photography in colors, developers, etc. A very acceptable example of a rather scarde early photography book.
