"The Second Edition, Improved and Extended". Binding well worn and with creasing to the spine strip, front hinge slpit but not detached. General foxing throughout. Small worn tear to the frontspiece plate. One of the earliest Amercian "tourist guides" , pre-railroad period, with sections generally arranged as follows: "Philadelphia: Tour to the Pennsylvania Coal Mines"; "New York: From New York to Albany by Hudson River; Albany to Lebanon Springs; Albany by Niagara by Canal; Niagara to albany by Stage Coaches"; Montreal; Quebec; "Boston: Route to the White Mountains: Routes to Maine".
