Extra illustrated; ten tinted plates as called for, this volume contains and additional six titnted color plates , five of which represent empire period female costume; an engraving of Ludwig XVIII inserted at the frontispiece (foxing); engraved portraits of Voltaire and Rousseau; engraving of Versailles from Paris Avenue (foxing to plate and facing page).
