Rainbows End
Peters, Ellis

NY: Morrow, 1979. First First American edition of the scarce second book in the Brother Cadfael series of medieval mysteries. Ellis Peters (pseudonym of the late Edith Pargeter), who is now recognized as the grand dame of the medieval mystery, defined the genre with her creation of Welsh born Brother Cadfael, monk, herbalist and sleuth. The series ran to over 20 books and skyrocketed to popularity on both sides of the Atlantic with the highly acclaimed television series starring Sir Derek Jacobi in the title role. This is a tight copy but is marred by large glue smears to the front and rear pastedowns and corresponding staining and smears to the flaps of the dust jacket. jacket also has some shallow chipping to the foot of the spine and a short closed tear top edge. Priced accordingly. Hardcover 0688035183 (Item ID: D8471)
