Description of the author's trip across Canada, beginning in Halifax and extending to the Red River in Manitoba, undertaken as a correspondent for the Times of London. Extensive description and commentary on the history, peoples, natural features, etc. and including specific sections on the three major Canadian railways, Mennonites and Icelanders in Manitoba, the Northwest Territories and the Canadian Far West. A tight, bright copy, spine lettering bright, a bit of ingrained dustiness to the cloth. Frontis map is a bit unevenly folded but certainly complete. A very nice copy indeed.
