Bethel Merriday
LEWIS, SINCLAIR

1940 NY: Doubleday Doran, Novel in which we meet Bethel Merriday as a 15-year old high school sophomore in 1931, follow her to college, in which she takes part in a play and kindles her love of the stage, and accompany her through a year-long tour as a professional actress during which she changes from a star-struck girl into a seasoned trouper. One of Lewis' more obscure works, not commonly found on used book store shelves. Though this is not a first ediiton, it is a fine, tight, bright copy (prev. own. bookplate front fly) in a bright, crisp dust jacket with a couple very shallow wrinkles and very minor rubbing to the edges.
