Collection of stories translated from the German; the title story is the only Christmas piece. Cloth is rubbed with wear at the tips and spine ends, cover gilt still bright and spine gilt generally clear. Gift inscr. and own, sig. dated 1858 on front pastedown; scattered staining to the margins and with a dampstain to the upper edge of the rear blank. Item #CH124
