Signed and inscribed publisher's portrait dated 1928
1928. 6" x 10" cardboard cachet with inset oval photographic image of a pencil portrait of the author, signed on the mount beneath the image "Gertrude Atherton/ 1928" and further inscribed below "For Mr. and Mrs. Scott" ] and with a tiny ink notation :Jan '28" in the lower corner. the image is stamped on the reverse "Boni & Liveright, Inc." with a small paper caption affixed "Gertrude Atherton, Author of Black Onyx, The Crystal Cup" Mount is tan heavy stock paper with deckle-edges borders in darker brown. We postulate that this was a promotional piece prepared by Atherton's publishers at the time. Near fine, some faint creasing to the mount. Near Fine. Item #XE14429
