1828. Holograph letter, two pp. folded quarto, written on three sides, dated at Bainbridge (New York), June 24, '28 and signed by J.C. Clark. Contents concern the Presidential campaign of Andrew Jackson. It reads in part, "My Dear Admiral/ How sails the Jackson Ship on the waters of the Mohawk? Does she glide gently on..." The letter goes on to comment on the likely division of New York's "Electoral Tickets" with additional comments on Jackson's propects in Delaware and Green countiies.
