A.M. Sullivan, a native of Harrison, New Jersey, had varied experiences early in life--meter reader, piano saleman, advertising and public relations rep. In 1926 he won the Edward Coate Pinckney prize and went on to host two nationally braodcast poetry radio programs, Radio Forum of Poetry (Mutual Network 1932-40) and "Poets Speak" (WNYC).
