The Masters of Raffaello (inscribed by the translatator and with ALS tipped in)

London: Field & Tuer, 1882. Hardcover. One of 100 copies only. Octavo in vellum covered boards lettered in black and lined in gilt. Edges uncut. 77 pp. plus advert at rear for Fagan's "Collector's Marks" in preparation. Dedication page printed in red. Inscribed top edge of the title page: "To ____ from / Louis Fagan/ Oct. 16, '82". Tipped onto the front pastedown is a single sheet ALS written both sides from Fagan to the same mindividual presenting him with a copy of the book. A tight example but with some peeling to the spine strip and withcuringh to the edge of the front cover vellum overlay ; even soiling. Lousi Fagan (d.1903) was Napels born Anglo-Italian who had charge of the British Museum's Drawings and Prints section for over 25 years. Very Good. Item #GE17146
