Memoirs of one of America's first families of the stage in the form of letters from the mother of Helen Hayes to her younger sister Mary MacCarthy. There was a numbered, signed limited edition but the first trade edition is particularly scarce signed by Miss Hayes. Very good. No dust jacket. This copy is inscribed to Helen Day Stevenson (later Meyner), daughter of U.S. Ambassador to the Philippenes William E. Stevenson, cousin of Adlai Stevenson; she maried Robert B. Meyner, 44th Governor of New Jersey and was herself a U.S. Representative from New Jersey for two terms in the 1970s. Very Good. Item #GE11597
