Laid in are four promtional pieces from Sherwood: a facsimile signed photo in clown costume, a facsimile signed photo in business suit, a photo of Sherwood shaking hands with Henry Ford, and a reproduction of an 1880 Barnum advertisment featuring Sherwood. Memoirs of famed circus clown Bob Sherwood (1864-1946) worked in American circuses in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, most famously with Barnum. In later years he advertised himself as the last surviving Barnum clown. Fine, tight example, touch of darkening to the gutters.
