Small octavo in brick-colored cloth spine letetred in gilt and front cloth lettered and decorated in black. 111 pp. Very scarce work that postulates that artificially created sturctural enviornments would be beneficial in the curing of certian diseases, particulary pulmonary consumption (tuberculosis). Shove was inspired London's Crystal Palace and by the effects of greenhouses on botanical specimens. The second half of the book details how such a glass structure would be constructed, heated, etc. A solidly very good example, some waer at the extremities, edge wear spine extremities. Very Good.
