Text block is firm, corners rounded, some small loss at the spine ends and the lower front corner of the front board, creasing to the spine strip. Previous owner's signature first blank (from which there is also a corner chip) and repeated on the title page "Amos Read--His Book", not dated but probably contemporary with the edition. Some light staining to the preliminaries and title page. Scattered light foxing to the text. Important religious work by Boudinot, a devout Presbyterian and one of the founders of the American Bible Society. More famously, the Philadelphia native but long time New Jersey resident, was mentored by Richard Stockton at Princeton, was a colonel in the Continental Army, served as representative from New Jersey in the Second Continental Congress, and was President of Congress (and by extension of the United States)in 1782 under the Articles of Confederation. good.
