Three quarter dark brown leather over brown cloth, lined and with hubbed spine, tooled in gilt, gilt spine lettering, The Second Edition. 552 pp. INSCRIBED BY THE AUTHOR ON THE FIRST BLANK, "Mrs. Edward Shepard/ Souvenir/ with complements of/ Levi Bishop/ July 8, 1878". Epic poem set in the Indian lands of the Teuchas Grondie, Huron and Iroquois Indians beginning in the mid 16th century, and dealing with their interactions with French explorers. This, the second edition, adds a number of unrelated poems of various subject matter not published in the 1870 first edition. A tight example, some wear and scuffing to the leather especially at the tips, some spotting to the cloth. Very Good. Item #E7521
