In this entry, a waitress at an upscale Amsterdam Japanese restaurant reports that her boyfriend is missing. It turns out that the boyfriend had been working for the Yakusa, the "Japanese mafia", selling stolen Japanese artworks to sell to European collectors, and she fears he has been killed by them. Correct. By the time fe Gier and Grijpstra ind his corpse, they've learned that the restaurant is a Yakusa headquarters dealing in heroin as well as stolen art. At the request fo the Japanese government, the two policemen go to Japan posing as Dutch merchants trying to muscle in on the trade in stolen art in an attemopt to expose the Yakusa.
