"Peter Pan in Kensington Gardens" was a separate book, most of whcih made up chapters 13-18 of Barrie's 1902 novel "The Little White Bird" and is one of four of the author's major works that featured his creation Peter Pan. This book begins with Peter as a seven-day old baby who "like all infants" used to be part bird. When Peter hears a discussion of what his adult life may become, he escapes out the window of his London home into Kensington Gardens where a crow tells him that he's more human than bird and that he can't fly. There he meets fairies whom he befriends and eventually Queen Mab grants him a wish that he uses to fly, with the help of the fairies, back home... other difficulties and relationships, however, ensue.
