Scaeffer, significant chip to the head of the spine extending onto the rear panel, shallow chipping to the foot of the spine along with some rubbing. The front panel has been archivally reattached. A collection of Verga's short stories; "Cavalleria Rusticana" (Rustic Chivalry) was first published in 1880 and is considered a cornerstone work of the Italian literary realism movement. Set in a 19th century Sicilian village it explores intense themes of jealousy, honor, and betrayal.
