Talmadge layman "Marse" Hill (1902- 1982) was a Morgan State graduate who played for the football team then returned to the college in 1930 after earning a master's degree at Columbia. He began his coaching career as an assistant to Edward P. Hunt in basketball, football and track. Hill became head basketball coach in 1948 and served in that capacity until 1960. He was also an assistant football coach beginning in 1930, the role for which he was being honored at the 1964 Homecoming game. Fine. Item #E36410
