A novelization of Pollock's stage play that opened on Broadway in October, 1922. This edition was issued at the time of the silent movie 1925 version (now lost). A solidly very good copy, no jacket. Pollock's play was an enormous hit, at one point being performed by six different theatrical companies around the United States. The plot revolves around a young clergyman who attempts to live his life as Christ would in the present day despite being confronted by an affluent congregation, labor strikes and poverty. It featured many dramatic incidents including the healing of a crippled girl through faith that reportedly moved thousands of viewers to tears. Very Good. Item #E34889
