A fine fresh copy in equally fine dust jacket. Hardcover. 82 pp. Apparently one of the more difficult Ponsot books to encounter signed as the poet was in her late eighties when it was published. Brooklyn-born Marie Ponsot (nee: Birmingham) launched her career when still a child, when some of her poems were published in the Brooklyn Daily Eagle. A graduate of St. Joseph's College for Women in Brooklyn, she earned a master's degree in 17th century literature at Columbia. After World War II, she traveled to Paris where she met and married artist Claude Ponsot. The couple and their daughter later they returned to the United States; her friend Lawrence Ferlighetti published her first book of poetry, "True Minds" in 1956. Fine / fine. Item #E34664
