One of 1129 copies of the Limited Edition, this being No. 502, signed by A. Edward Newton on the limitation page. Fore and bottom edges uncut. xii+ 389 pp. with index. Small string bound pamphlet in blue stiff wraps reproducing an 1834 unfinished manuscript by Charlotte Bronte in pocket at rear (fine). Very good or a bit better, bit of toning to the pale green paper and a small spot on rear board. No jacket (none issued?) Collection of short tales about horse racing, book collecting, San Francisco, London, "The Bronte Country: My First Visit", "The Bronte Country: My Second Visit" and others. The final chapter, "A Leaf from an Unopened Volume or, The Manuscript of An Unfortunate Author (Charlotte Bronte)" that was published by Sergeant Tree in January, 1843. Very Good. Item #E34375
