Illustrated with vintage photographic images, reproductions and diagrams of interior and exterior cars. One of only two books of whivch we are aware on the legendary Blue Comet, the legendary passenger train run by the Central Railroad of New Jersey from 1929 to 1941. It ran between the metropolitan New York City atra (actually you boarded at Jersey City) and Atlantic City; the name derived from the color that the locomotives and passenger cars were painted (untramarine and "Packard Blue"); its tickets were blue as was the upholstery in thediningh cars and the uniforms of the porters. The Central new Jersey instituted the run to provide passenger with fast and luxuruious transport to the lower Jersey Shore at regulkar coach fares. It boasted a 97% on-time performance. A scarce book in any condition, particularly sought after in the fine condition of the copy offered here. Fine. Item #E30539
