1858 Crosswicks and Trenton Turnpike Company Stock Certificate [New Jersey]

1858. Original printed certificate for three shares at $50 per share of the Crosswicks and Trenton Turnpike Company dated April 1st, 1858 and made out to one Isreal J. Woodward. 7 1/2" x 6 1/2", pale blue paper, blank backed, two light folds. Incorporated March 17, 1854, the turnpike ran from Trenton along what is now Broad Street for approximately nine miles to the small town of Crosswicks, part of it becoming what is now Route 206 west of White Horse. The route, which had also been known as the White Horse Road, was approved for an electric railway (trolley) in 1899. Very Good. Item #E27694
