Operation Blunderhead: The Incredible Adventures of a Double Agent in Nazi-Occupied Europe

Gloucestershire, UK: History Press, 2015. First edition. Hardcover. Fine, fresh unused copy in equally fine dust jacket. First printing. Hardcover. 223 with bibliography, index. Illustrated with photos. In autumn, 1942, British Special Operational Executive Ronals Sydney Seth was parachuted into German-occupies Europe. His mission was supposedly to carry out acts of sabotage agains the Nazis in a plan codenamed Operation Blunderhead. Seth himself had engineered the mission and thus had no support network on the ground. The mission failed, Seth was captured, imprisoned and sentenced to death by the Gemans but he evaded execution by convincing them he could be an asset. What happened between his capture and his return to England in the waning days of the war at times read like a novel, yet much of it is true, albeit highly embellished by Seth, who was caoable of weaving the most elaborate fantasies.
