One Woman Show: A Collection Of Monologues. Cornelia Otis Skinner.

One Woman Show: A Collection Of Monologues

Dramatic Publishing Co., 1974. Softcover. Pictorial softcovers. Presumed first printing (no statments). Very good, internally clean, slight evidence of use on the covers. Group of monologues originally written and performed by Cornelia Otis Skinner. In the preface Skinner that these pieces , "..monolouges, character sketches--call them what you will...are printing exactly as I wrote them with myself in mind as the performer..". She goes on to note that the ideal setting would be a bare stage "covered by an unobtrusive rug and backed by plain, neutral colored curtains...the only furniture a small lightweight table...and two chairs." After appearing in several plays, Skinner embarked in a performance tour of these one-character sketches from 1926-1928. This was the first collected publication of these pieces. Very Good.
