Graham Greene's classic 1936 (oriignally published in the UK as "A Gun For Sale") thriller about a criminal called Raven, who assassinates an Eastern European (Czechoslovakia actually) Minister of War on orders from an agnet of a corrupt steel tycoon. When Raven is paid off by the agent in what turns out to be stolen currency, he goes on the hunt for the agent (Cholmondeley) while begin himself hunted by a police officer (Jimmy Mather) Mather's girlfriend, chorus girl Anne Crowder, also gets involved. Green's novel was the basis for the 1942 noir film "This Gun For Hire" starring Alan Ladd, Veronica Lake and Robert Preston. Good. Item #E25521
