The Final Season: My Last Year As Head Coach in the NFL (SIGNED BY BILL PARCELLS)

New York: Morrow, 2000. First edition. Hardcover. Firts edition/printing. BOLDLY SIGNED BY PARCELLS ON THE HALF-TITLE PAGE. Fine in fine dust jacket still retaining the "Autographed Copy" sticker on the front panel, a trifle bumped at the outer tips. Hardcover. 235 pp. Illustrated with photographs. Hall of Fame NFL head coach Bill Parcells' unflinching, candid and tough recounting of his final season coaching the New York Jets in 1999 (despite the title of the book, Parcells would go on to take the head coaching job for the Dallas Cowboys 2003-2006). He had won tow Super Bowl titles with New York's other team, the Giants, and Jets fans looked for him to repeat such success with their team. They had reached the AFC Championship game the year before but the 1999 team lost long time owner Leon Hess during preseason and was beset by injuries including to their top receiver and their quarterback. At one point, the "Big Tuna" had nine starters lost to injury. The team started 1-6 but were able to finish the season at .500. Fine / near fine. Item #E25378
