Uncommon biography of actor Lee Marvin (1924-1987). Born in Nedw York City, Marvin served in the Marine Corps during World War II. His acting career began when, while working as an assistant plumber in a small theater, he was called upon to replace a sick actor. He made his movie debut in 1951 and also appeared in a number of TV shows including four seasons as the lead in "M Squad". By 1966 he was an established star, usually playing military or tough-guy roles, but appeared in "Cat Ballou" in a more comedic role opposite Jane Fonda. For that film, he won the Oscar for Best Actor; he also had a leading role in iconic war movie "The Dirty Dozen" in 1967. Near Fine / fine. Item #E25057
