Bragan tells of his start in the low minors in 1937 and was brought to the majors as an infielder in 1940 by the Philadelphia Phillies, After three seasons there, he was traded to the Brooklyn Dodgers where he player for his final four major legue seasons. He continued to play in the high monors until 1959. After managerial stints with the Pirates (1956-57) and the Indians (1958), he was skipper of the Milwaukee/Atlanta Braves from 1963-1966. Always considered a "character", he was always a popular figure in the game. This memoir is segmented with personal observations of over 40 stars of the game from Hank Aaron, Joe DiMaggio, and Roy Campanella ot Stan Musial, Maury Wills and Warren Spahn.
