1948 Playbill for "Mr. Rogers" original Broadway production with the original cast

Original Playbill Magazine for the week of November 15, 1948 for the Broadway performance of "Mr. Roberts" at the Alvin Theater in New York. This performance featured the original cast of Henry Fonda as Mister Roberts, Robert Keith as Doc, William Harrigan as The Captain, David Wayne as ensign Pulver. "Mister Roberts" won the "Best Play" Tony for 1948. The play was based on the novel of the same name by Thomas Heggen. Henry Fonda originated the role of the title character, having been released for a movie contract in order to accept the part, and won the Tony Award as Best Actor.
