Playbill for "Harvey" original production and original cast

New York: Playbill, 1946. Softcover. Playbill Magazine from the week of Monday, January 28, 1946 for the original Broadway production of "Harvey" at the Forty-Eighth Street Theater in New York. Very good, tiny chip top edge of front cover along with a small inked "1946". Frank Fay was still appearing in the role he originated of Elwood P. Dowd and Josephine Hull appeared as Veta Louise Simmons. There was no cast member playing Harvey (since he was invisible). The play debuted in 1944 and for it its author Mary Chase won the 1945 Pulizer Prize for Drama and it ran for nearly 1800 performances. Frank Fay and Josephine Hull both premiered in the play, remaining with it for significant time. Hull would later reprise her role as Elwood's sister Veta in the classic 1950 film version with James Stewart. Very Good. Item #E24599
