The imprint reads; "This first printing of An End To Valor is signed by the author" and is decorated with crossed swords and a battle drum design. Hardcover. Map endpapers. x+ 418 pp. Illustrations. This copy deaccessioned by a well-known institution which in turn had donated its library to another prominent institution founded in 1862 as a patriotic organization and in still in existance today as a private club. Our letter detailing this will be included. Generally fine, Lincoln portrait bookplate front pastedown, ownership stamp from the first institution on the signed page. In the original dust jacket chipped about the edges and soiling to the wahite backgrounds, the institutions library label on spine. dramatic account of the last days of the Civil War covering the period from Lincoln's second inauguration to the final grand review of the Union armies in May, 1865.
