Hardcover. 24mo. in original marbled paper covered boards over black leather spine. 108 pp. First with this introduction by J. Newton Brown. Well worn and rubbed with the spine mostly perished. A famous sermon by Baptist minister Robert Hall (1764-1831) first published in 1801 and republished many times (with slight differences in title). In the introduction, Brown, in his 28-page introduction to this edition, calls it "..{a} discourse..generally allowed to be the master-piece of the greatest pulpit orator of modern times..".
