Gigi (scarce pictorial theater edition covers)
Ferenczi, (1955). First edition thus. Softcover. Color illustrated softcovers. N.d. (circa 1955). Front cover is a color portrait of Evelyne Ker while the rear cover displays photos of Audrey Hepburn (who played the role on Broadway in 1951) and Ker. Text in French of the story originally written in 1942. Very good or somewhat better, some curling to the edges of the covers. The 1958 American version of the musical was far more successful that the earlier stage verisons; it starred Leslie Caron in the title role (after Hepburn turned it down), Maurice Chevalier, Louis Jordan, and Hermione Gingold and it won 9 Academy Awards including Best Picture.
