Very good, gilt stamping generally bright. Memorial biography of the Maine congressman and senator and one time Speaker of The House (1869-1875). He also served two seperate terms a Secretary of State in the administrations of three different Presidents. He was the Republican nominee for President in 1884, losing to Grover Cleveland.
