A tight, bright fine example, tasteful vintage bookplate front pastedown. No jacket. The atypical Burroughs work, first serialized in Munsey's Magazine in 1922, a contemporary novel whose plot alternates between the Pennington family lving on a California ranch and reminiscneces of a young Hollywood bit-part actress Shannon Burke (stage name Gaza de Lure). The Pennington's become involved in the bootleg liquor business; the actress, who refuses to tarde sexual favors for better roles, eventually become a drug addict and dealer. Fine. Item #E20424
