Albert Aaron Johnson, born in Wisconsin in 1880, grew up in the American west and eary recognized the desirability of adult education for those who did no access to institutions of higher learning. He became a professor of agriculture and in the late 1920s while in Russia began working on behalf of the American government to study and suggest improvements in that field. In the late 20s and 30s he wrote several books and articles on the Soviet Union. His works in that area were of great interest to various communist, socialist and even radical groups in the 1930s though he was not known to be affiliated with any of of them. Very Good.
