New York: Macmillan, 1906. First edition. Hardcover. First edition. Blindstamped forest green cloth lettered in gilt. 158 pp. plus 2 pp. publisher's ads at rear. A tight, bright example. In the original printed dust wrapper, very good with modest wear to the extremities. Inscribed on the front pastedown, "To Little Dorothy/ Wednesday/ Dec. 17, 1913" and with a holograph poem taking up the entire front free endpaper. In addition, there are two single sheet manuscript poems in Dawson's hand, one of 8 lines titled "A Letter To God" and the other of for five-line stanza, untitled and dated Dec. 29, 1913. Coningsby Dawson was an Oxford graduate (1905) who came to American to launch his literary career. His is perhaps best known for the books he published during and about World War I; he was an officer in the Canadian Field Artillery and was twice wounded. Fine / very good. Item #E17187
