Single sheet folded quarto and printed in two sides. Signed "Conrart" with a flourish at the bottom of the conclusion of the text. Text in French. Final line of printed text reads ,"Tenu a Paris le cinquiesme iouu de Juillet 1642. Signe, Galland. " There is a short hand notation of two lines between the final line of text and Conrart's signature. Overall very good or somewhat better. Valentin Conrart (d.1673) was one of the founders of the French Academy; by 1629 he was appointed a councillor and secretary to Louis IX and with the aid of Cardinal Richelieu, the Academy was created in 1635. Conrart remained scretary of the Acedemy until his death. Image available. Item #E15626
